This image was made for the cover of the 1969 Department of Continuing Education program brochure at the University of British Columbia. The artist hand pulled 20 prints on various colors of paper to evaluate their effects. He found that the classic art did not benefit from most tinted backgrounds except for a biege that suggested the warmth of light red cedar. This print is on biege paper.
